OC - Yi Qi

(翼呇)Yi Qi - yi means 'wing', 'qi' means 'star'

Her name is a homophone for the chinese word for 'together' (一起), and has similar pinyin for other chinese words-- abandonment (遗弃) and loyalty (义气). This isn't her real given name. She picked this after running away from 'home', wanting to become successful in some way.

She was disowned as an infant because she wasn't male. Her parents only wanted a son, so upon learning that their newborn's not male they bribed the unscrupulous doctor to declare her a stillborn to get rid of her. The doctor sold her away, and she was adopted in a place further away by a couple whose main motive was to receive fostering benefits from the state.

Yiqi received minimal education (stopped schooling after there's no longer any free-education scheme for her grade). The only friend she had was the couple's biological daughter who, being a child, was more genuine in being kind than her parents. As both girls grew up, the girl started adopting her parents' manipulative nature to tease her. Yiqi felt betrayed and eventually ran away from 'home'.

Started as a pickpocket and soon became a skillful con artist. It was her luck (whether good or bad) that a powerful organisation with criminal backing learnt of her skills. They hired her legally for an office job but her actual tasks were criminal in nature.
